SUNY NEW PALTZ GRAPHIC DESIGN THESIS SHOW 2017

The Fine Line // Emily Hillard

Misuse of prescription drugs means taking a medication in a manner other than prescribed; taking someone else’s prescription, even if for a legitimate medical complaint such as pain; or taking a medication to get high. There is a fine line between using medications and drug abuse. Prescribed medications, such as Xanax for anxiety or Adderall for ADHD, are meant to benefit those who need it. I took the real stories from those who have used prescription medications, whether prescribed to them or not, and the stories from friends, families and loved ones of those who use prescribed medications. It’s unfortunately very common to abuse medications and venture down the wrong path. The goal of The Fine Line Magazine is to share the stories of anonymous individuals to help those who are struggling. All stories were written by individuals who have gone through an experience with prescription medications. They were all asked to tell the story on how it had impacted their life.
